Change of Seasons

Change of Seasons

Many times we struggle in the winter (difficult) season of life because we are desperately seeking that breakthrough or just to see the sun shine again.  I can say that I truly understand and can relate to that hunger for the better.  However, I also learned that during my winter season I have seen a lot of growth, change and shedding of many situations, systems, people and lifestyles.

In this particular season I have seen a medley of many things, even things that the enemy has used to try to trip me up or frustrate me so much that I would want to give up.  Please, understand that God is the greater force of the two and even in the dark, you are being developed to do better and to become a better person.  God knows your story...He wrote it and He knows just how much frustration, a little drop of anger, a pinch of sadness and the right amount of get up off your butt to give you in order for you to walk in your purpose!  Don't ever give up, hold on and know that this is not where it stops!! Understand that there is a divine purpose in your life to succeed and better yet, to help someone else to succeed.

If you haven't discovered your talent or gift yet, begin to pray and ask God.  Begin to pay attention to your surroundings and the thing or things that you love to do and can do with little effort.  Or, if there is very much effort involved, yet you enjoy doing this, then you may be on the right path.  I just want to say don't give up, believe in yourself and remember that God has the very last say in all that you do!  Hold on and move forward. Don't worry about what it looks like on the outside, because in the dark while God is developing you, training you and teaching you that is where you gain momentum.

If you could give a word of encouragement to someone else, what would it be?

Support as an Entrepreneur

Support as an Entrepreneur

As a new entrepreneur just starting out, the task can become a little intimidating.  What I have learned is that you have to have almost pit bull tenacity in order to survive.  You MUST have a passion for what you're doing because without it, you will surely give up!  There are many different types of businesses that individuals venture out on from the brick & mortar to the social media highway, no matter which one that you choose there is always hard work that must go into your dream.  I've also learned that the passion for this thing is what will keep you going when you have the few moments when you feel like giving up!

I have recently started on the journey and have found that frustration can try to grip you, especially when you don't see things taking off as you have written them down in your plans and may become discouraged.  But I say...Don't Every Give Up!!  Remember, this is your dream and no one will take care of it, nurture it or support it like you will so you must be fully vested in your business.  Learn your craft by immersing yourself in it, whether you have a mentor, a personal business model that you are following or someone else that is in a field that is similar to yours and you see that they are succeeding.  There are certain things that I believe that every business, regardless if you're a small business, author, speaker etc., there are just certain things you need to have.

A)  Strong & Positive Customer Service
B)  Excellence in ALL that you do!
C)  Integrity
D)  Always find a way to give back to your supporters
E)  Very strong work ethic!
F)  Ability to accept positive feedback or criticism

For all of those Entrepreneurs out there, what did you find to be some of the most helpful tips to advance your business or career?  What advice would you give a newbie into an industry?  Are there any specific business models that you follow?  All responses are welcome!

Distractions

Distractions

As writers or anyone who is working towards a specific goal has not run into distractions along the way?!  However, these distractions can sometimes cause additional problems in other areas of your life, career or future goals.  For instance, I found that several days this week I encountered so many distractions, to the point where I didn't want to be bothered with anyone or anything.  Now...from a business mindset, we cannot allow this to happen because it disrupts productivity, whether for yourself or someone that is waiting for something specific from the provider.  Just as with anything else in life, everything has a cause and effect.

I'm very interested in finding out what others do in times such as these?  What do you do to get yourself back on track?  Do you take a much needed break?  Or, do you push through the distractions in order to fulfill the business or personal need at hand?  I've found that by making short term goals as early as a week at a time can help in toning down some of the issues that arise.  Some of the things that occur just can't be avoided because we are still people that have other things going on in our lives such as families, other businesses perhaps and the list goes on.  What would you say is the best way to prioritize your life?  Just think, we haven't even discussed the emotional or spiritual difficulties that one may be having simultaneously.
